Below are some of the types of flooring that you should avoid using in offices.
1. Carpeting
If you have been to a number of offices, you will have noticed that you have probably never seen a carpeted floor in these offices. This should not come as s shocker to you because it would not make have carpet flooring in your office. In most offices you will find that the number of people who work in that office is very large and that they are always moving about. You should also consider that we have women and they may be wearing heels or other types of shoes to the workplace. If you decide to use a carpet in an office such as this it will get worn out very quickly since people are moving all over.
In some offices also there are a large number of people who come from outside. These people will come carrying all types of dirt on their shoes and this will lead to lots of problems since cleaning carpets is a task that very few people enjoy. You should therefore avoid having carpet flooring in offices. However, you will realize that some offices are best suited for carpet flooring. This is especially true in high end offices where the chairmen of the companies and the executive offices can be found. The carpets are also good for offices where silence is important since they do not make noise when people walk.
2. Tiles
As you have probably noticed a large number of people are using tiles in their offices recently. This is the new trend and it has been embraced by almost all companies. The tiles have the benefit of being easier to clean as most people claim. There is some truth in this but most people do not look at the bigger picture. Tiles are easy to clean but they also get stains easily. If the janitor does not take his job seriously then you may have to replace the tiles because they will be very unpleasant to look at.
It should also be remembered that tiles have a very short lifespan. After a while some of the tiles will start to break off and you will have to replace them. These recurring costs will be very expensive in the long run. When the tiles get stained you will have to polish them and this is very expensive. If you work in an office where you need some peace and quiet then you will surely be disappointed by the flooring in the office. When ladies walk you will hear the clanking of their shoes and after a while this may become too annoying. There will be no peace and quiet in the office.
3. Wood Flooring
This is probably one of the oldest types of flooring used in offices anywhere in Singapore. Wooden floors are very pleasing to look at and if you want to make your office look nice then you should go for the wood flooring. The problem with wood flooring is that most of the times you may not get the right quality or the person doing the fitting job may do a shoddy job. The floor will not last long and after a while it may start creaking which may be very annoying in an office.
